The bad habit based on Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) is typing text message while they driving. Studies show that the collision risk for drivers who text messages while driving goes up 23 times over those who do not do so as text messaging takes the eyes off the road for too many seconds. For collisions in 2007, out-of-control driving contributed to 23% (1,318 out of 5,672 cases) of fatal accidents and 14% of overall accidents (3,674 out of 27,035 cases).

PROTON Exora, Malaysia's first multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), has has been nominated for the prestigious advertising and marketing effectiveness award organised by the New York Festivals.


The Exora marketing campaign also won a Golden Dragon at the Promotions Marketing Awards of Asia and a Silver award at the Malaysian Effectiveness Awards.

SEREMBAN, 18 April — Jenazah vokalis kumpulan Spin, Achik yang meninggal dunia setelah terbabit dalam kemalangan semalam selamat dikebumikan di Makam Tuan Haji Said di sini, kira-kira 1 petang ini.
Sebelum itu, jenazah Allahyarham Achik, 27, dituntut oleh ahli keluarga di bilik mayat Hospital Tuanku Ja”afar (HTJ) di sini setelah selesai bedah siasat.
Jenazah kemudian dimandi dan dikafankan di hospital itu dan dibawa dengan van jenazah ke rumah mertuanya di Taman Desa Ros, Ampangan di sini kira-kira pukul 11.30 pagi bagi membolehkan kaum keluarga dan kenalan terdekat memberi penghormatan terakhir.
Jenazah disembahyangkan di surau Taman Bukti, berhampiran Taman Desa Ros dan dibawa ke tanah perkuburan kira-kira 12 tengah hari.
Suasana sedih dan sepi menyelubungi rumah mertua Allahyarham yang dihadiri lebih 100 orang termasuk saudara mara dan penduduk kawasan berkenaan.
Antara artis yang hadir memberi penghormatan terakhir ialah Hattan, Siti Nordiana atau Nana, Tomok dan Lan Kristal.
Achik atau nama sebenarnya Abdillah Murad Md Shari yang popular dengan lagu “Janji Kita” terbunuh apabila kenderaan pelbagai guna (MPV) yang dinaiki bersama sepupunya, Salihin Md Salleh, 29, terbabas lalu terbakar dan meletup di KM 14.7, Lebuh Raya Kajang-Seremban (Lekas) dekat sini kira-kira pukul 6.15 petang semalam.

UNTUK menjaga agar kenderaan dapat digunakan dalam tempo yang panjang, pemandu disarankan jangan selalu melakukan pemecutan, pembrekan dan pembelokan dengan tiba-tiba kecuali dalam keadaan terdesak.
AMALAN hidupkan enjin kereta dan terus jalan adalah tidak baik. Sebaik-baiknya setelah enjin dihidupkan, biarkan dua atau tiga minit sebelum memulakan perjalanan. Ini penting bagi memastikan enjin dalam keadaan panas.
Ketika proses pemanasan, minyak pelincir akan dialirkan ke semua bahagian enjin. Jika enjin terus dibebani sebelum dipanaskan, ini bermakna enjin terpaksa bekerja ketika minyak belum sampai ke setiap bahagian yang perlu dilinciri.
Dengan itu, setiap bahagian yang bergeseran akan mengalami kehausan akibat geselan yang berat sehingga enjin akan lebih cepat rosak.
Enjin dikira sudah cukup panas apabila jarum suhu air pendingin naik sedikit. Proses pemanasan juga berlaku untuk sistem transmisi serta bahagian lain yang bergerak. Apabila sudah mula memandu, jangan terus memecut. Bergeraklah perlahan untuk beberapa ketika sebelum memecut.
Selain itu, enjin kereta juga tidak boleh dibebani secara kasar. Janganlah biarkan enjin bekerja pada sesuatu gear rendah dengan terlalu lama, contohnya gear tiga ketika mendaki bukit.
Amalan ‘tarik’ gear rendah yang lama untuk kuasa pecutan juga cara yang tidak sihat untuk kesihatan kereta. Jika dibiarkan dalam keadaan itu terlalu lama, selain daya enjinnya berkurangan, enjin juga akan terlalu panas. Enjin yang selalu berada dalam keadaan terlalu panas akan cepat rosak.
Enjin juga akan bekerja melebihi had maksimum putaran gandar dalam keadaan melahu atau pada waktu pemindahan gear ke posisi yang lebih rendah (contohnya, dari gear tiga ke gear dua) dilakukan pada waktu kenderaan masih bergerak dengan kelajuan tinggi atau ketika kenderaan sedang meluncur di atas jalan yang curam). Jadi, berjaga-jagalah.
Untuk menjaga agar kenderaan dapat digunakan dalam tempoh yang panjang juga, pemandu disarankan jangan selalu melakukan pemecutan, pembrekan dan pembelokan dengan tiba-tiba, kecuali dalam keadaan terdesak.
Selain itu, elakkan juga terlalu kerap menggunakan brek di atas jalan yang curam atau pada kelajuan tinggi untuk mengelakkan masalah sekatan wap. Elakkan juga memijak injak cekam apabila tidak diperlukan dan janganlah memindahkan gear secara kasar, tidak kira gear manual atau automatik.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.


Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Proton Holdings Bhd will initially produce 25 units of its newly-launched Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Edition.
Its managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said the national carmaker had so far received 11 bookings for the model.
"This car was specially designed to commemorate the Lotus Formula One racing team. We intend to do it in limited edition," he told reporters after the model was launched by Proton''s adviser Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad here today.
"Initially we will produce 25 units in line with our 25-year anniversary celebrations," he said.
Syed Zainal Abidin said Proton would increase the volume of the Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing edition if the model received good response.

The company, he said, also planned to exports the model to Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia.
Inspired by the spirit of Lotus Racing, the car is powered by Proton's race-proven 1.6-litre CamPro CPS engine, and re-tuned by R3 for more power and torque utilising its Engine Management System, performance camshafts, carbon fibre air-intake and titanium exhaust headers.
The Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing Edition is currently available at RM115,000.
R3, which stands for "Race, Rally and Research, is Proton's motorsport division specialising in the research, development and production of race cars and performance parts.
